Quick check: is it you or Nike?
Nike does not publish a public status page for Nike Run Club. The fastest check is a user-report site like outage.report. If many people report problems in the last hour, it is a Nike issue: wait, and record today’s run with another app so it still counts (see below). If there are no reports, the problem is probably on your phone, and the steps below usually fix it.
7 fixes, in the order to try them
Check if Nike Run Club is down for everyone
Before you change anything on your phone, check a status site like outage.report. If lots of people are reporting problems at the same time, it is on Nike’s side, and the fix is to wait. Your phone is fine.
Force close the app and open it again
On iPhone, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause, then swipe the Nike Run Club card up and away. On Android, open recent apps and swipe it away. Then open it again.
Restart your phone (and watch)
A restart clears a lot of small glitches. If you use the Apple Watch app, restart the watch too, because a stuck watch can stop the phone app from syncing.
Update the app and your phone
Open the App Store or Google Play and install any Nike Run Club update. Then check for a phone software update. As of October 2026 the Apple Watch app needs watchOS 10 or later.
Check permissions
If the app opens but GPS or heart rate is missing, check Location (set to “While Using the App” or “Always”) and, on iPhone, Apple Health access (Health app → your profile picture → Apps → Nike Run Club).
Free up storage and check your connection
Apps can crash when your phone is almost full. Delete a few large videos or apps you no longer use. Then try on Wi-Fi and on mobile data, because the app needs a connection to load your account.
Reinstall, but sync first
Deleting and reinstalling the app often fixes crashes on launch. Before you do it, make sure you know your Nike login, and check that your recent runs show in your Nike account or Apple Health. A run that never synced could be lost.

Don’t lose today’s run
Run&Grow is a free iPhone run tracker. Every run grows a plant in your garden, and it reads runs from Apple Health.

How to keep your runs safe
The biggest worry when an app breaks is losing your history. On iPhone, the best safety net is Apple Health. Nike Run Club can sync workouts to Apple Health, so turn that on now, while the app works:
- Open the Health app on your iPhone.
- Tap your profile picture, then Apps (under Privacy).
- Tap Nike Run Club and turn on Workouts and the other data you want.
From then on, new runs are stored in Apple Health as well as your Nike account. If you ever switch apps, many of them (including Run&Grow) can read those runs.
Run anyway: what to use in the meantime
A broken app is not a reason to skip a run. Some easy backups:
- Your watch’s built-in workout app. On Apple Watch, the Workout app records outdoor runs and saves them to Apple Health.
- Strava’s free tier for GPS tracking. See our Nike Run Club vs Strava comparison.
- Run&Grow, free on iPhone. Every run grows a plant in your garden, and runs recorded by other apps that save to Apple Health count too.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why does Nike Run Club keep crashing?
- The most common causes are an out-of-date app or phone, a glitch that a restart clears, a nearly full phone, or a problem on Nike’s side. Work through the steps on this page in order: check if it is down for everyone, force close, restart, update, then reinstall as a last step.
- Is Nike Run Club down right now?
- Nike does not publish a public status page for the app, so check a site like outage.report, which collects user reports. If many people report problems at the same time, the issue is on Nike’s side and you can only wait.
- Will I lose my runs if I delete Nike Run Club?
- Runs that already synced to your Nike account stay there, and runs saved to Apple Health stay in Apple Health. A run that never synced could be lost, so open the app on Wi-Fi first if you can, and check your recent runs before you delete it.
- Why are my Nike Run Club runs not showing in Apple Health?
- On iPhone, open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps → Nike Run Club, and make sure Workouts and the other data types are turned on. New runs should then appear. Older runs that were recorded while sharing was off may not come across.
- What can I use while Nike Run Club is broken?
- Record your run with your watch’s built-in Workout app or another tracker so it still counts. On iPhone those runs go to Apple Health, where apps like Run&Grow can read them and grow a plant in your garden for each run.
